Who We Are:
We are an undergraduate student Engineering project team at Ohio State's Center for Automotive Research (CAR) focused on the design, construction, testing, and documentation of an off-road vehicle.
We work to develop our members' understanding of the automotive and motorsports businesses, as well as provide hands-on experiences that expand their knowledge of engineering and fabrication practices. We strive to present challenges to our members that enable them to learn the important elements of project management, business management, and engineering design.
What We Do:
Each year, our team has the task of designing, fabricating, and racing an off-road vehicle to compete with various other universities and colleges around the world in annual Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) competitions.
We design our vehicles from scratch each year, and fabricate most of each vehicle in our Student Projects shop at CAR. At the SAE competitions at end of each year, the vehicle is judged on design, functionality, performance, cost, and business prospect. Our team allows students, faculty, and other members of the community to pool resources and knowledge to continuously improve our vehicle designs and our abilities as engineers. This team is a non profit organization under The OSU College of Engineering.
